How do I provide a link to another issue when I add comments in an issue?

The words 'Issue X' are automatically hyperlinked to issue X. That is, if you wish to provide link to issue X while entering comments in issue Y in the same project, just type the words "issue X" as a part of your comments. Once the comments are submitted the words, 'issue X' are automatically hyperlinked to issue X in that project. The words that get hyperlinked are:

  • issue X
  • Issue X
  • issueX
  • IssueX

REMEMBER: Do not misspell the word 'issue' Do not use any thing in between the words issue and X. For example,

  • issue - X
  • issue: X OR
  • Issue no. X

How do I provide a link to a specific comment in an issue?

The words 'issue X desc Y' are automatically hyperlinked to comment number Y in issue X. You can find out the comment number when you move the mouse over the comment. For example, if you move your mouse over the first comment of an issue the tip displayed will be 'desc1'. Similarly the tip displayed for the Nth comment will be 'descN' So, if you wish to provide link to descY in issue Y while entering comments in issue X in the same project, just type the words "issue Y desc Y" as a part of your comments. Once the comments are submitted the words, 'issue Y desc Y' will be automatically hyperlinked to desc Y of issue Y in that project. If you enter just 'desc Y' in issue comments, it will be hyperlinked to descY of the same issue. The words that get hyperlinked are:

  • issue X desc Y
  • issueX descY
  • issueX, descY.

REMEMBER: Do not misspell the word 'issue' and 'desc' (This is not case sensitive). Do not use any thing in between the words issue & X and desc & Y. For example,

  • issue - X
  • issue: X OR
  • Issue no. X, desc no Y

How can I create shortcut links for the queries I execute most often?

To create shortcuts for queries you execute most often, follow the steps as given below:

  • Go to Issue Tracker - > Query page

  • Set/Select the values for various fields as you do for a query
  • At the bottom of the page, choose the radio button 'Remember this query, and name it: '
  • Enter a name for the query in the text box adjacent to the radio button
  • Click <Submit Query> button

  • Click on the 'Prefs' link
  • Click on the 'Query link setting'

All the saved queries must be listed in this page. Against each query you'd find two options 'Should appear on every page' and 'should only appear in the query page' Choose the 'Should appear on every page' option for the query link to appear on every page in 'Issue tracker'

Can we migrate data from Bugzilla - > Issue Tracker or Bugzilla - > Project Tracker?

Migration from Bugzilla to Project Tracker is straight forward using a tool like PTMT. Migration from Bugzilla to Issue tracker depends on the version of Bugzilla. Recent versions of Bugzilla have ”customizable fields” which are not present in the current version of Issue tracker. Hence its likely that we’ll lose data if the migration is from Bugzilla -> Issue tracker. If the version of Bugzilla and Issue tracker is same, no data is lost. To perform a migration, please file a support ticket.
