User: What kind of objects can I create reports on?
Reports can report on data from trackers and tasks. Task reports can report on data in a single project or across multiple projects. Tracker reports can report on data in a single tracker or across multiple trackers in a project.
User: How do I save a report so I can run it again later?
In order to save a report for later use, you will need to define the report criteria and save it in a report template. To save a report template
- Click Reports in the project navigation bar. The List Reports page displays a list of existing report templates.
- From the drop-down menu, choose a type of report template. Available report types are:
- Task Report - Reports on the numbers of tasks assigned to each user.
- Tracker Report- Reports on the numbers of artifacts submitted to selected project trackers. Then click New. The Task or Tracker Report Criteria page is displayed.
- Select your desired report criteria. The fields on the Report Criteria page differ for each report type. Click Generate Report.
The report results are displayed and the template is saved.
User: Why don't I see all tracker fields when attempting to export the report?
When viewing the "Report Details" tab, you will see two "Export" buttons. The top most button will only export fields that exist in all trackers. To export all fields of the specific tracker you will need to use the export button locate below the tracker that contains those fields. Note: with the release of 4.4 SP1, the top button has been renamed "Cross Tracker Export" to reduce this confusion.
Admin: Can I use crystal reports to extract information from the SFEE database?
While you may be able to connect to the database SFEE uses using crystal reports, we do not support this as a reporting method. As the schema of the database may change in future versions of the application, we suggest you utilize the SOAP API for creating your own reporting tools.
